Nothing says summer on Cape Cod quite like the Cape Cod Baseball League. Regarded nationwide as a proving ground for tomorrow’s professional ball players, the league dates back to 1885. From Wareham to Chatham, top collegiate players compete on ten town teams (Bourne, Brewster, Chatham, Cotuit, Falmouth, Harwich, Hyannis, Orleans, Wareham, and Yarmouth-Dennis) which means you’ll never have to drive far on the Cape to catch a game.
Major league scouts and college coaches consider the CCBL the premier amateur baseball league in the country. At present count, 250-odd Cape league alumni are currently playing in the majors. An astounding one in seven major league players got their start in the CCBL. The Cape league represents an amazing array of talented players in all positions. Check out the CCBL website .
Celebrate the boys of summer! Find a game near you in the upcoming season. Grab a hot dog, enjoy the Cape air and best of all, listen to the crack of real wood bats, just like in the majors!
